Married at Home
Updated: Nov 25, 2020
What could be more perfect than waking up in your own bed, welcoming loved ones into your own home and being wed in the most romantic setting - your own back garden?
That is exactly what Stephanie and Mark did! Back in June, this stunning period property in Worcestershire was transformed, as if by magic into the perfect wedding venue. With a little help from some wonderful suppliers (more details below) this laid back couple succeeded in hosting the most spectacular wedding day.
The advantages to using your own home as the wedding venue: complete and utter control and flexibility, with no restrictions on late night music or corkage and no dates being booked up years in advance. The lack of a wedding venue hire fee also leaves more budget for those all important details, something this fabulous couple certainly took advantage of.
The catering was incredible and the tableware and styling some of the most elegant and sophisticated I've seen. Combine this with an open sided, traditional, pole cloth marquee and you have got probably the most gorgeous 'garden party' you could imagine!
The ceremony was held under an arch of wild foliage and flowers reached by an aisle of vintage rugs and hosted by the most lovely celebrant, another freedom that celebrating your special day at home can afford you.
I am lucky enough to know this couple personally, the Bride has always been a close family friend. There are stories of her babysitting me, doused in my Mother's perfume trying to lull me to sleep and I was actually (unbelievably) a child Bridesmaid at Stephanie's first wedding which I remember well and so, to have the honour of providing the flowers for her special day with the wonderful Mark was really very special to me.
I would like to thank them both for allowing me to be part of this inspirational and 'oh so romantic' day and I hope that this blog post sparks ideas in the hearts of couples looking for a wedding that is completely personal, unique and a little 'out of the box'.
